about

eikon is a Greek word — εἰκών — meaning image and likeness. It is the root of the English word icon.

In the Eastern Christian tradition, an icon is not a picture. It is a window — a way of seeing the sacred already present in the world. That is what I am trying to do with a camera.

Every frame is a quiet act of seeing — finding the sacred already present in the ordinary. Not creating beauty, but recognizing it. Light on a wall. A doorway. A face. God is in all things. The camera is just how I slow down long enough to notice.
